A new study from GasBuddy.com predicts Kamloops residents will be paying the highest gas prices this year since 2013.
Senior Analyst Dan McTeague says, it has everything to do with the price of oil soaring past 65 dollars recently.
“2013, you are looking at average prices in the $1.24 to $125 range. We are already seeing signs of that right here in the interior and Kamloops and pretty much across the Okanagan, but right across Canada. Conservatively five to six cents a litre on average is what it would go up and we are definitely on track to beating that right now considering this time last year you were paying nine cents a litre less than you are paying today.”
McTeague says, what happens in the United States will in his words continue to dog us all year.
