Kamloops Council will spend some money on snow removal equipment.
Today council agreed to buy $320,000 worth of new equipment, which will be used around the city and for two kilometres worth of limited access alleyways
Councillor Arjun Singh supported the move.
“Maybe it hasn’t been done before because we haven’t had the snowfall amounts is what I have been thinking. That is my educated assumption. Climate change is upon us and we have really be considering extreme rain and extreme snow.”
Past the initial equipment costs the ongoing annual operating cost will be $35,000.
