Kamloops Council will deal with a contentious issue today whether or not to permit a gravel storage operation in Dallas.
Council faced with the decision of granting a temporary use permit for a period of three years at 7905 Dallas Drive, on the south side of Dallas Drive between Kokanee Way and Silver Stream Road in the Campbell Creek Industrial Park.
The city receiving numerous letters from nearby residents opposing the application.
Mayor Ken Christian noting senior staff are recommending council approve a temporary use permit.
“There’s a good deal of opposition from the neighbours. I think really it is an incompatible land use issue and Council will have to adjudicate that.”
In a report to council senior staff say under the terms of the temporary use permit or TUP, the proposed gravel bins would be moved from their current location immediately adjacent to the neighbouring residential development.
