Big news at the Sun Peaks Resort in the Kamloops area.
The resort municipality, receiving six million dollars in gas tax money to expand and enhance the existing sport centre.
Mayor Al Raine says, the facility will include a multi-purpose indoor facility, capable of hosting up to 3,000 participants.
“We’re going to put over the existing ice rink, a roof. But we’re designing it so that in the summer months, we’ll have an all weather facility for doing music concerts, for doing association and corporate trade shows, we could even do large recreational events.”
The feds…covering 6 million of the nearly 7.2 million dollar price tag, with the rest to be raised by the community.
