Nothing personal, but a Kamloops based spokesman for the Mounted Police Professional Association has a problem the way that Canada’s next top Mountie was selected.
Retired cop, Rob Creasser, reacting to the appointment of the first ever woman to lead the R.C.M.P, Brenda Lucki,
“Well I wouldn’t have the Prime Minister of Canada involved in the selection process. And I know there was a committee that Mr. Trudeau picked to pick the next commissioner, but it needs to go even further than that. There needs to be an independent board that really has nothing to do with the federal government that chooses the leader. And until that happens, I think we’re going to have problems in our organization.”
Lucki, to replace outgoing Bob Paulson, who retired at the end of June.
