Score another victory for the BC RCMP in the never ending war on drugs in the Tournament Capital.
RCMP Constable Mike Halskov says a vehicle was stopped for speeding on Highway 5 near Kamloops on Valentines Day but the driver didn’t have a license and the vehicle was not registered to either him or his female passenger.
Halskov says police seized between one and five kilos of cocaine which can be turned into thousands of doses.
“Once a drug like that is stepped on its in a fairly pure form when it comes in packaging that size and once its stepped on by other substances that are added to it it can make for a large number of doses that can get into our community and harm our citizens.”
The two suspects face possible charges for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and the driver was issued tickets for speeding and not having a valid driver’s licence.
The vehicle was also impounded.
