Canadian Home Builders Association Central Interior giving Thompson Rivers University students a boost.
4 of the first year students in the residential construction program with the Trades School have walked away with some extra cash for their education.
CHBA Central Interior President Rob Lemire says they have given bursaries to the top students in the first year residential construction program.
“With the training house that we do in conjunction with TRU that becomes the Dream Home, we actually have an opportunity to get the students on site to do some hand son work, which is fantastic. It’s a great opportunity for all.”
Dean of Trades and Technology, Baldev Pooni says, its fantastic to see the money go to the students.
“It goes to show that in doing good, I think, for the community, in creating the house that basically creates money for the Y and community, there is something given back to support students through their education.”
This year’s house will be given to the YMCA/YWCA at the end of the month for the 22nd annual Dream Home Lottery.
