General Manager Glen Grant, speaking out about speculation that the park is heading for closure, as a result of government taxation policy.
“We’re not going back and asking the city for anything. We want some additional funding from the province, or if we could have some more corporate sponsorships, but falls back on my desk too to explore some of those options. But we just wanted to tell people that yes, we’re going to have some challenges down the road.”
Grant, clarifying that while the B.C Government’s new health employer payroll tax is pressuring the Wildlife park’s financial state, the rumour making the rounds about the facility closing, couldn’t be further from the truth.
