Kamloops is looking at increasing the utilization of the current space in the Canada Games Pool, but its not going to be an easy task.
The pre-design work to replace the leaky roof and siding has started.
Capital Projects Manager Darren Crundwell says, while expanding the footprint of the current facility is not likely there are other options.
Crundwell says, there is a breezeway between the Pool and the field house with opportunities to cover that but there are no specific plans right now.
“We haven’t gotten into it yet, those are some of the things we will talk about and bring forward to council.”
Crundwell says, the business case for the pool was for around 600 users but it is now seeing about 2,000 people a day.
