The date change of B.C’s Family Day next year has the President and CEO of Canada West Ski Areas Association shaking his head.
Christopher Nicholson says moving Family Day is going to result in tight competition for tourists and skiers.
“For anyone that’s looking at booking into February Family Day next year, best advice is book now because you’re going to have not just B.C residents, but Alberta, and Washington residents competing for the same space.”
Nicholson says, the direct impact for ski resorts will be financial, as they are expecting tourism numbers to be impacted.
B.C has moved its Family Day holiday from the second Monday in February to the third one, aligning with the other provinces.
