Several bantam aged hockey players who grew up playing together are expecting a big day Thursday for the WHL Bantam Draft.
Logan Stankhoven (centre of photo) is expected to be a top five pick, and potentially chosen by his hometown Kamloops Blazers who hold the 5th selection. He played this past season at Yale Hockey Academy.
Defenseman Tyson Galloway (right) could be a late 1st round or early 2nd round selection. He also played at Yale this past season and has sprung to a 6’3″ defender with good size and skating.
Also in this photo from five years ago – Jake Sherwood, a defenseman for the Bantam Jr. Blazers this past season who has a chance of being selected.
The trio join others in the mix including Ashton Taylor who also attended Yale Hockey Academy. The captain for the Jr Blazers this past season Chase Cooke along with F Owen Barrow, Brendan Hunchak and others.
The draft will be held Thursday morning in Red Deer, AB.
