Canada Postal Workers Union waiting to hear more details as home delivery negotiations continue.
President of the Kamloops Local 758, Kellie Horncastle says, the last update was that the home delivery was staying in place, with no more community mailboxes added to residential areas that haven’t gotten them.
“We’re hoping with the negotiations that we’ll find out a little bit more regarding the home delivery of the CMB’s (community mail boxes), and then maybe we will get to restore the home delivery to everybody, but chances are, it’ll be Canada Post saying that its staying the way it is, that’s the status quo, but anybody that hasn’t had the CMB’s yet won’t be getting them.”
The plan to end door-to-door delivery was brought in by the former Conservative government as a way to save the Crown corporation money.
