Thompson Nicola Regional District’s Emergency Operations keeping a close eye on the Kamloops area as spring flooding continues.
Agnese Saat of TNRD’s Emergency Operations says, they recently evacuated 17 residents in a mobile home park in Guichon Creek, and they’re monitoring Cherry Creek’s flood levels closely.
As far how things will fair this week, Saat says, they’re expecting more River Forecasting modelling to come out today and tomorrow.
“So that’ll give us more of an indication as to how much snow is still in the hills, and how much more water is expected to come down. We do have a sandbag crew at Stump Lake.”
Saat adding, they want to remind people to be careful when out tackling flooding, as there could be harmful debris lurking in the water as well.
