Kamloops Council has approved a new agreement between the Blazers and the city to change some seating at the Sandman Centre.
The gondola section in the upper section of the south side of the arena, some 90 seats, will be replaced with private balcony seating- adding another 64 seats.
The Director of Community Services Byron McCorkell says, this would result in additional revenue for the hockey team and the city, with the blazers picking up the entire 300 thousand dollar construction cost.
Councillor Pat Wallace says, its a good concept.
“When people want to come up and give us three hundred thousand dollars to improve a facility they don’t own my last word would be thank you.”
14 of the 16 new seating arrangements have already been sold, at six thousand dollars a pop.
