Mounties looking for a thief who took advantage of an elderly Kamloops woman.
Corporal Jodi Shelkie says, yesterday, a 93 year old woman waiting for the bus near Columbia Street when she was approached by a vehicle.
“A female got out of the vehicle, and started to talk to her in a foreign language, and the female had a cheap necklace in her hand, and kept motioning towards that she wanted to put the necklace on her. Even though the senior told the woman she did not want the necklace on, the woman placed it on her anyway, and while doing so, she took the senior citizen’s expensive necklace off of her. After the woman got the expensive necklace, she then left the cheap necklace around the senior’s neck, and jumped back into her car.”
Shelkie says, the male driver of the car and the woman involved both had dark hair and dark complexions, and the car was an older dark coloured model.
Any information about this incident should be directed to Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000, or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
