A brush fire forced the evacuation of residents in the Country View Estates mobile home park Friday evening.
The fire swept along the hillside in the 3000-block of Shuswap Road, not far from Lafarge Road around 9pm.
Flames and smoke were clearly visible from the Trans Canada Highway, and prompted a number of concerned passers-by to take to social media with photos.
Because of the proximity to nearby homes, Kamloops RCMP went door-to-door evacuating residents as a precaution.
The BC Wildfire Service was called in to assist Kamloops Fire and Rescue put down the blaze.
The fire was brought under control and residents allowed to return to their homes early Saturday morning.
Kamloops RCMP say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
