The B.C Wildfire Service is making progress on battling the 2739 hectares Allie lake fire, northwest of Kamloops.
Fire Information Officer Heather rice says while the blaze remains at 35 per cent containment, crews made significant headway overnight.
“The north portion, the head of the fire has now also been guarded, so the crews will continue to work hard on those successes. We have sent a few of the helicopters away to help other fires. We are at seven helicopters today.”
On another front Information Officer Marla Catherall reports good news on the Xusum Creek fire, near Lillooet.
“The fire is currently estimated at 500 hectares and is classified as out of control but is about 35 per cent contained.”
There are 97 firefighters working the blaze.
