The Kamloops Blazers hope the future is friendly.
24 of the organization’s top prospects will be on the ice at Brock Arena Saturday and Sunday. The group will be led by new Senior Advisor Don Hay – set to push the prospects through on-ice practices.
It will be a first look at Logan Stankoven – the 5th overall in the WHL Bantam Draft. All but one of the 2018 bantam draft class will attend. California’s Ben Palmersheim, an 8th round pick won’t attend due to exams. He is expected to be in rookie camp in August.
The Blazers will also get a firsthand look at two prospects acquired in the Pilon/Vala blockbuster trade with Everett back in January. Forwards Nathaniel Hinds and Kalen Ukrainetz will also be on the ice. The Blazers have already signed seven 16 year-old players from the 2017 bantam draft and all seven are expected to be on the ice.
Practice and scrimmage sessions begin Saturday at noon from Brock Arena and then again Sunday at 9 a.m.
