Its the latest concrete information that Kamloops is growing quickly while, taxpayers seem to be embracing the Internet.
Revenue and Taxation Manager Cara Graden says, the number of property tax notices issued has risen ten per cent.
“We sent out about 38 thousand notices this year. The city is growing, that’s up from just over 36 thousand in 2015.”
On another topic, Graden says, more property owners are paying online.
“We saw about ten per cent growth last year over the prior year in online banking payments, which is helpful just because people don’t have to wait in line for anything like that.”
Graden adds, 25 per cent of homeowners pay through installments, 20 per cent from mortgage companies, 25 per cent through banks, while the remaining eight thousand choose to go to City Hall.
