It’s the latest effort by the B.C Government to combat mental health issues for those impacted by wildfires or floods.
Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, Judy Darcy says, the Talk in Tough Times telehealth program is a collaboration between non-profits, local health authorities, First Nations governments and community organizations.
“Talk in Tough Times is really meant to say to people, you don’t have to just tough this out. It took an awful lot of strength to get through the natural disaster, and people tend to keep it together when they’re in the midst of it right, they’re trying to cope, they’re trying to survive, trying to re-establish themselves, keep their families together, but often the effects come afterwards.”
Darcy says, the Facebook page will be similar in format to a public forum, and other resources to get help can be found on the B.C Government website.
