A group in Kamloops looking to establish a year-around indoor market is taking the next step in what is going to be a long process.
Speaking on the Jim Harrison Show, Councillor Dieter Dudy says, the group known as the Kamloops Public Market Co-operative is out seeking input on its proposal for a 35 thousand square foot facility in the parking lot at Riverside Park next to Heritage House.
Dudy says, the focus is on the business community since it will be most impacted.
“We need to start thinking about finding funding sources. Things we can put together so we have all our ducks in a row before we takes this to council and of course, I can’t take it to Council, I will remove myself completely from it then.”
On another topic, Dudy has announced he will see re-election this fall and talks about how many candidates there could be.
“I think you are going to see quite a number. My guess is you are looking at about 32 for council and as likely as many as six for mayor.”
The election will be held October 20th.
