A community in the Kamloops area is picking up the pieces after their local hall was vandalized.
One of the volunteers who runs the Heffley Creek hall, Deb McDougall says they arrived yesterday to find abandoned furniture on the property, graffiti, and warped doors from vandals trying to pry them open.
“We only just found out about it yesterday, and we are a wedding venue and a community hall. And I’ve got renters coming in there on Thursday, so we’ve got to hustle back and get it fixed up. Again, we’re all volunteers, we all work full time, but we just have to make time to get this done.”
She says the situation is frustrating and they have been in contact with the RCMP about the incident.
