Another indication the drug overdose crisis in Kamloops remains a challenge.
The Executive Director of the Ask Wellness Centre, Bob Hughes spoke with officials at Royal Inland Hospital this week.
He says it was another bad day in the emergency room.
“Four folks come in in full overdose with CPR the full just bringing them back to life. Interestingly enough, the description was that these were not street involved folks. They were kind of working class people that are using opiates. Yeah it goes up and down just a bad batch comes in and we unfortunately don’t hear about it until people overdose.”
Hughes is looking for a better way to track batches of bad drugs from the time they enter B.C and find out which communities are on the supply chain.
Hughes says that gives health and police officials time to warn drug users in advance to reduce the number of fatalities.
