More housing for seniors in Kamloops.
Brenda Prevost the Executive Director of the Centre for Seniors Information says the province is providing $11 million to build a residential tower at 6th and Victoria.
It’ll house 112 units.
“Its the first project,” she said. “The first housing development that the centre for seniors is going into so its really a starting base for us which I think makes it that much more exciting because its a direction we always wanted to go.”
“The opportunity had never really presented itself in as great of a light that it did this time.”
Housing minister Selina Robinson says among the 4,900 initial units announced by the province this week, three different projects will see 199 affordable homes built in Kamloops.
