Kamloops city staff say they heard plenty of input last night at a meeting on upgrading the Noble Creek water system.
The system is half-a-century old and is used by nearly 40 properties in Westsyde, including the Privato Winery.
City manager David Trawin says Kamloops will be contacting the City of Kelowna and the Ministry of Agriculture to talk about options for an upgrade to the system here.
“In my opinion, it was a good first meeting,” Trawin says. “I learned quite a bit from what the comments were.
“I think people did a very good job of articulating their concerns on that, and I have like four pages of notes for things to follow up on.”
Trawin says the matter will be back before council in mid-January.
At this point, city staff are looking at either transferring the water system to its users, selling it, or stopping its use altogether.
