THE HEADLINES:
-- Two Kamloops Lacrosse teams are on the ropes in final series action tonite. The Sr. Rattlers are at home for game two of the best of three Okanagan Extreme League final for an 8pm game against the Armstrong Shamrocks. Kamloops Venom and, the Vernon Tigers square off in the 5th and deciding game of the Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League final.
-- Unconfirmed reports say Casey Printers will be out of the BC Lions lineup much longer than expected with a torn meniscus and, a partially torn ACL in his injured knee.
-- Wide receiver Terrell Owens is taking his game to Cincinnati. The Bengals worked out a one-year contract worth 2 million dollars with the 36-year-old Owens. He's expected to arrive for workouts Thursday.
-- Former NFL great, Oakland Raiders safety Jack Tatum has died of a heart attack at the age of 61.
-- Diego Maradona is out as Argentina's soccer coach. He was offered a four-year contract to continue but Maradona said he would stay only if his entire staff remained.
-- Toronto FC played some of its most inspired soccer of the season in a 1-0 win over its Honduran visitors in the first leg of a CONCACAF Champions League qualifier. Dwayne De Rosario was the maestro of the midfield, earning an assist on Chad Barrett's first-half goal.
-- Toronto's Jose Bautista hit two homers, increasing his league-leading total to 30, as the Blue Jays beat Baltimore 8-2.
-- Alex Rodriguez missed out on home run 600 in the Yankees' 4-1 loss to Cleveland. Seattle was hammered 11--0 by the Chicago White Sox.
-- NASCAR team owner Jack Roush is in serious but stable condition after a plane crash in which he and, one other occupant walked away after the plane he was piloting went down in Wisconsin.
-- Tour de France winner Alberto Contador will leave Astana at the end of this season after rejecting the team's offer to extend his contract. Contador has won two of his three Tour titles with Astana.
-- The L-A Kings lost Alexander Frolov, who signed a 3 million dollar, one-year deal with the Rangers but, he was replaced by Alexei Ponikarovsky at the same price. WHL grad Tomas Fleischmann re-signed a one-year deal with Washington for 2.6 million dollars.
-- Kamloops Blazers will make three trips into the Central Division during the 2010--2011 WHL season for 10 games, in October, November and, February after having their schedule worked out yesterday at scheduling meetings.
-- Colin Carson of the TRU Wolfpack men's volleyball team will wear his country's colours after making Canada's Junior National Mens team.
