With the approval for funding of modular units, the building of affordable housing is getting underway for Kamloops.
Social and Development Services Supervisor Jen Casorso says, from here it’ll be making sure the public is up to date.
“So the development itself, like the actual look and feel, form, and character of the building have to meet the city’s development permit guidelines. As well, that includes landscaping and placement of amenity areas.”
Casorso says, many of the residents and business have shared what they’d like to see.
“So the next step will be the development permit application.”
Casorso adds, BC Housing and the partner agencies will be submitting that in the next couple months.
The 104 modular units are funded through 16 million dollars from the B.C Government.
