RCMP Bait cars in Kamloops have proven successful once again.
Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk says, two separate events have resulted in the arrest of two men, aged 25 and 38.
“The first incident occurred January 29th, 2018, where a bait car was activated in the 400 block of Royal Avenue. A lone male was viewed inside the vehicle, moments later, the same male was stopped and arrested by police with a number of items that were taken from the bait car.”
Buliziuk says the second incident was last night after a 38 year old man stole a bait car from the 500 block of Schubert Avenue.
“Kamloops RCMP find the bait car program an effective and safe way to deal with vehicle theft. And it is one of many tools we use to combat property crime in the Kamloops area.”
Buliziuk adds, police would like to remind people to keep valuables out of parked cars, and lock the doors.
Both men were released on Promises to Appear in Court and Recognizances.
