Arson, almost certainly behind a home fire last night at a house on the North Shore with a troubled history.
Kamloops Fire and Rescue Platoon Captain, Darryl Cooper says, they got the call around nine last evening for a blaze at 217 Nelson Avenue just off Fortune Drive.
Cooper says, neighbours reported an explosion and once they got in the home they knocked the fire down pretty quickly. As for a cause…
“Fire investigators got on scene after we left. They went through the building with the RCMP to look and take some samples and stuff. Fire crews did find a jerry can inside with a broken window. I would suspect they dumped gas inside the building and then when they lit a match to it that caused the explosion that shook the neighbouring house.”
A shooting that sent two men to hospital took place at the home last October.
