After some hefty hours of work from city crews, a sewer main break along Lorne Street is now repaired.
Utilities Services Manager Greg Wightman says, the break happened around 6 p.m Wednesday night at 950 Lorne Street.
“Difficult dig location, given that it’s pretty tight inside the complex there. But we were able to get down to the main and get it repaired at 8 o clock last night, and had our pump station up and running shortly after that.”
Wightman says, it’s too soon to gauge how costly the repair was yet, or what caused the PVC pipe to fail.
“Yeah, great work by the crews yesterday, tough day for sure for them, but we’re glad we got everything back up and running.”
Wightman adds, they appreciated that nearby residents conserved their water usage while repairs were underway.
