Kamloops RCMP have taken over the investigation into a house fire at 217 Nelson Avenue on Wednesday, deemed suspicious.
Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk says, the investigation revealed that a subject approached the vacant residence and tossed an incendiary device into the residence.
He says Kamloops Fire and Rescue attended to put out the fire and confirmed that there was no one inside the residence.
“A blue newer model pickup was observed near the residence and the suspect is believed to have fled in the mentioned vehicle. The investigation is still ongoing at this time. Of course, this residence has been known for its criminal activity over recent years and has been the subject of several police investigations.”
The home was the scene of a shooting injuring two people in October.
