The job is not over for Kamloops work crews following the record amount of snowfall over the weekend.
Streets Manager Glen Farrow says cleaning up the sidewalks is going to be key over the next 24 to 36 hours.
“Along Fortune Drive, Westsyde Road, 8th Street a lot of the sidewalks the sidewalk plow type of work needs to be focused on. As well we will be focusing on removing snow out of the two business districts along the Tranquille corridor as well as the downtown business district. Removing that snow during out graveyard shift. So bringing in contract trucks and hauling that snow out of there to eliminate the large windrows along those parking stalls”
Farrow says the city has spent more money on snow removal so far this January and February than it did compared to the same two months in 2017.
