City of Kamloops is joining forces with the Kamloops Innovation Centre.
Business Analyst Services Manager, Jeff Burton says, the joint venture, with some city staff collaborating with members at the Innovation Centre, will be a win-win scenario, where the city can learn about emerging technologies, and then share their own expertise so the centre can be successful with developing their services for the public.
Burton says, they have a couple areas of focus.
“A mobile computing platform, just to enable workers to do video conferencing between offices. That will also reduce vehicle traffic from driving around from office to office. Also looking at some project management software, and some project management techniques to make us a little more efficient in rolling out projects.”
After 3 months, the trial partnership will be reviewed to determine whether a longer project is worth pursuing.
