An analysis from the BC Real Estate Association predicts home sales across the province will drop this year including in Kamloops.
However Association Chief Economist Cameron Muir says the drop in Kamloops won’t be that large compared to the rest of the province.
He says the association is predicting a nearly 9% drop in real estate sales across the province.
“We look overall across Kamloops market we expect sales to be down about just under six per cent this year. It is a general ebbing of sales activity I think this year. We have already seen in the first couple months this year, at least on a seasonally adjusted basis, that home sales have declined in most markets in the southern half of the province.”
Overall sales in Kamloops jumped 5% last year and are slightly ahead during the first two months of 2018.
