Kamloops Real Estate Association is glad to see the new provincial tip line launched to report shady realtors.
President Doren Quinton says anything that can improve the public protection is a good thing.
“I mean, we’re all about protecting the consumer, and allowing people the opportunity to field complaints, if there are complaints out there.”
Quinton says they hear bits and piece of complaints, but the Kamloops area doesn’t tend to see many problems.
“Because it is anonymous, I mean, it certainly would allow real estate agents to complain anonymously, as they don’t want to be seen complaining against one of their peers. And it is easier for the public to complain anonymously.”
The B.C Government announced the tip line today, which will allow the people to report suspected misconduct by real estate agents.
