The City of Kamloops will start its major spring street cleaning today.
Streets and Environmental Services Manager Glen Farrow admits the city is two weeks behind schedule in street sweeping.
Farrow says extra staff will be brought in to help speed things up.
“The areas where we spend more time, energy, and sand through the winter with snow and ice will be those same areas where we are needing to spend more time picking up sand. In the coming weeks we will be focusing in the lower elevations and the valley bottom working on North Shore, Brock, Westsyde, and Batch over time you know after the next two or three weeks then we will be shifting up the hill.”
Farrow is hoping its all wrapped by the end of May.
