A Kamloops man will formally enter a guilty plea in connection with a 2016 hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of 16 year old Jennifer Gatey next Monday in BC Supreme Court.
43 year old Jason Gourlay will not appear in court today but his lawyer Jeremy Jensen says his client will be remanded until next week.
We don’t know officially yet which charges Gourlay will enter a guilty plea too.
Jensen says after that the matter will be adjourned for a few days and then a sentencing hearing will begin.
Jennifer Gatey died on Nov. 4, 2016, the day before her 17th birthday, after being struck by a vehicle on Pacific Way south of Aberdeen Drive, just behind her family’s home.
She was walking to catch a bus to the Tournament Capital Centre for a workout.
