There has been a big drop in real estate sales in Kamloops.
The Kamloops and District Real Estate Association says home purchases in March dropped dramatically compared to the same month a year ago.
Association President Doren Quinton says its not a surprise considering sales across the province have also plunged.
“We saw a drop in sales during the month of March. We had 210 sales in March this year compared to 276 in March of last year, so that is a drop of 24%. Year to date sales are 565 compared to 600 last year so that is a drop of 6%.”
He says the median home prices in Kamloops is now $462,000.
Quinton says 28 homes were sold in the area over the $600,000 mark.
The most popular areas for home hunters were Sahali, Brocklehurst, and Aberdeen.
