Staff at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops have now found most of the files contained in a binder of personal information that went missing March 1st.
Kris Kristjanson, the Health Services Director at Royal Inland Hospital, apologized on behalf of the Interior Health Authority saying there were 35 missing patient files in all.
“We have located 31 of those patient charts here at the hospital. They were unfortunately misfiled and so they were missed. But we have continued to search for them and we will continue to search for the four remaining files,”
He says the Interior Health Authority takes the issue seriously.
“We believe that the four were likely misfiled as well, but I can’t confirm that yet because we continue to look for them.”
Kristjanson says there will be a review of the current systems to ensure this doesn’t happen again
