Kamlops R.C.M.P have discovered a body in the South Thompson River.
The latest from Corporal Jodi Shelkie
“This morning we were notified that a citizen had seen what they believed to be a body in the South Thompson River. Police and the coroner’s office attended, and located the body partially submerged in the river. The body of a female was extracted from the river in the afternoon. At this time, the identity of the woman has not been confirmed. At this stage of our investigation, it is not believed that a criminal offence occurred.”
Police won’t say if the body is that of 62 year old Thelma Vaughn of Kamloops who disappeared February 7th.
Kamloops RCMP were notified of a suspicious vehicle that has been parked near LaFarge Bridge on East Shuswap Road for a few days. This is a location that is frequented by cross country skiers.
