While we wait for Peter German’s anti-money laundering review to be made public the leader of the BC Liberals has his doubts it has found much of anything.
Andrew Wilkinson says he is expecting a lot of fuss from Attorney General David Eby but not much in the way of finite details of any actual wrongdoing.
“Mr. Eby will run up the flagpole the terrible things that are happening but there is no evidence. He can’t tell you what the evidence is because it is all a secret and has to be the subject of police investigations. We will expect a fair amount of noise from David Eby.”
So does Wilkinson think the anti-money laundering review was worthwhile?
“We will see what it has to say because unless they get into specific details of specific charges and specific matters before the court a lot of it is just speculation basded on things they are not prepared to tell us.”
Peter German submitted his final report on money laundering in provincial casinos on April 3rd.
He has been asked to launch a phase two report examining money laundering and the housing market.
