Could Kamloops be in for another record construction year in 2018? The early indications are positive.
Building and Engineering Development Manager Jason Dixon says, there are several large permits in the pipeline at City Hall.
Dixon expects strong activity in the commercial, industrial, and institutional sector.
“One of the big permits we are waiting on would be the TRU nursing building. We are anticipating that application very soon. There are some other apartment buildings around town that we are waiting for permits on, or already have permits sort of in place, and being processed. All indications are its going to be a really strong year, and continue to be busy.”
Construction values during the first three months of the year almost doubled to 38 million dollars, compared to the same time period in 2017.
