Thompson Nicola Regional District Library has begun a new partnership to help print disabled patrons.
Head of Outreach Services, Jenny Abramzik says, the partnership will allow libraries to offer books and magazines in a variety of formats, including audio, braille, and e-text.
“Over 540,000 titles offered through Centre for Equitable Library Access, otherwise known as CELA. Patrons that sign up will also have access to Book Share, which is an American website that offers another 500,00 items. So really, you’re looking at about 1 million items that are available.”
Abramzik says, the formats area available to anyone with a print disability, and to sign up, contact TNRD’s Outreach Services.
