The Sun Peaks Resort Municipality is looking at a small property tax increase for 2018.
Mayor Al Raine says, council is looking at a five year financial plan with a two per cent.
He says for the rest of the plan annual increases are pegged at 1.5 per cent as the community grows and requires more services.
“We are certainly seeing growth. The last year obviously there are a number of people interested in Sun Peaks properties has certainly expanded. We have got a couple of big projects that are underway now and I think both have successfully sold out.”
Raine says, one of the major challenges is the acquisition of the sewer and water utility from the resort corporation for three million dollars which has added increased costs for the municipality.
