The City of Kamloops and School District 73 have been named as defendants in a lawsuit stemming from the major upgrade of the Westsyde Pool.
Anvil Ironworks of Kamloops, who was subcontracted by D&T Developments, is also suing the company, and two consulting firms.
The controversy began after the wrong kind of steel decking was installed on top the building, and then had to be replaced.
In the statement of claim, Anvil wants to recover the 182 thousand dollars spent to correct the problem outlining a number of allegations.

“From a city of Kamloops perspective, all our of documents were in order. We even included wording such if we did make a mistake in some way shape or form that it was the responsibility of the contractor and their subs to ask questions and so the City of Kamloops feels everything was done correctly.”
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
