After a few months of cooling the Kamloops real estate market is headed back to boil.
There were 348 sales last month, an increase of 8% from April’s 311.
The president of the Kamloops and District Real Estate Association Doren Quinton says as generally occurs when the weather warms up, we saw a significant boost in new listings during May with 583 homes hitting the market.
“We saw a continuing trend just below record numbers. We had 348 sales in May of this year compared to 372 last year, that’s down just about 6%. Year to date 1221 in sales compared to 1297, so down 6%, right along our expectations.”
The most active areas were Sahali with 36 sales and Brock with 30.
The median price during May 2018 was $473,000 compared to $437,900 during May last year for an increase of 8%.
