The BC Green Party is holding its annual general meeting in Kamloops this weekend.
Party Leader Andrew Weaver says its a chance to take the pulse of the membership after what he describes as a “crazy” year.
As for the party’s prospects in Kamloops, Weaver says the Greens will spend more time in former Mayor and current BC Liberal MLA Peter Milobar’s riding in the next election.
“We think that Kamloops could be far better served by a BC Green candidate that’s actually spending their time offering solutions constructively instead of getting people to start worrying about lunch bills and stuff like that”.
The comment is a reference to Milobar’s recent private members bill that sought to end free meals for Victoria area MLA’s, none of whom are BC Liberals.
He says delegates will largely be focused on preparing for the fall sitting of the Legislature.
