Kamloops will celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The Executive Director of the North Shore Business Improvement Association, Jeremy Heighton, says, the Walk to Embrace Cultural Diversity will be held June 14th.
“Because every resident in the city of Kamloops has the right to realize his or her potential, regardless of race, colour, national, or ethical origin, and live at all times in conditions of dignity, respect, and peace.”
Kamloops Deputy Mayor, Dieter Dudy,
“It surprises me that in today’s day and age, in what we call a civilized society, we’re still having to look for ways that we can improve upon how we see other cultures, and other peoples.”
The event is sponsored by Kamloops Cariboo Regional Immigrant Society.
