A Kamloops Councillor isn’t a fan of a proposal floated by a home builder.
Doug Wittal told NL News a problem at some point in the future will be the availability of serviceable building lots and land in the ALR may have to be used.
However Councillor Dieter Dudy isn’t sure that’s ever going to happen.
“To go and decide to develop that would be counter to anything that has been in place over the last 50 years. As much as in respect what Mr. Wittal has done for our community in development and things like that. I think we need to get beyond looking for new land and start maximizing what land we do have and looking at the densification”
Dudy says, good luck, since the NDP government intends to strengthen the land commission making it even more difficult to get land out.
