The B.C Wildfire Service is not letting its guard down.
Speaking on the NL Morning News, B.C Information Officer Clare Allen says mother nature holds all the cards.
“So certainly precipitation has been beneficial. However, Environment Canada, as well as our weather forecasters, are predicting an above average season in terms of temperatures moving into those later summers months. So really we’re doing our best right now to prepare our crews as well as our resources in order to be prepared for the worst if it does happen.”
There one thousand firefighters employed directly by the B.C government.
